India's Digital Health Mission
India's National Digital Health Mission aims to transform the delivery of healthcare. The public infrastructure provided includes a unique Health ID called ABHA, a Health Professionals Registry and an API-driven open protocol for private entities to develop and integrate innovative applications.

Cloud computing in healthcare has many benefits including (1) Lower cost of ownership (2) High security (3) Regulatory compliance (4) Use of APIs for exchanging data & (5) High scalability. All the major cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure provide healthcare capabilities.
Healthcare Interoperability
Healthcare interoperability or ability to share information between different providers has received a major boost with the adoption of Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), a HL7 standard. FHIR-R4 has been recommended for adoption by India's NDHM.
Application Development
With about 75% of India's Internet traffic coming from mobile platforms, any healthcare application has to have a mobile-first approach. We use Flutter as the platform for app development as it allows us to create apps for iOS, Android, Web and Desktop using a single codebase.
